In the fifties the first kiosk was located in the middle of the village, near the road leading down to the ferry.

When the main road, Riksväg 13, was rerouted a petrol station and new kiosk were built there. The kiosk functioned as a small general store, and the petrol station mainly sold products from Nynäs. Later, a garage was built behind the kiosk. This included a car wash bay and an inspection pit for servicing vehicles.
The kiosk also served as a bus station, with a waiting room and facilities for goods deliveries. It became a popular meeting place for the village’s young people. The kiosk/petrol station closed in 1965 and was converted into a residential house.
